Kenya Barris is bringing the mind of Kid Cudi to Netflix.
Barris ‘ Khalabo Ink Society and Kid Cudi, whose full name is Scott Mescudi, are collaborating to turn Kid Cudi’s upcoming album, Entergalactic, into a new adult animated music series.
The series will feature music from the album and focus on a young man who is searching for love. Kid Cudi’s album will not only serve as the basis for the series, but the rapper will also write and executive produce the series as well as feature as the series’ star.
Barris has a full Netflix slate, what with his other Netflix project, Astronomy Club. This, of course, isn’t the only thing Barris is working on; he’s got Coming to America 2 in the works as well as an animated film based on the songs of reggae juggernaut Bob Marley.
Cudi was just announced as a series regular in Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming HBO series, We Are Who We Are.
