Sterling K. Brown is best known for his Emmy-winning portrayal of Randall Pearson on the NBC family drama This Is Us, as well as his supporting roles in films like Black Panther and Waves. This month, you can find the Stanford alum lending his voice to an upcoming Netflix animated series from DreamWorks TV, Kipo And The Wonderbeasts.

The official trailer for the series premiered online Wednesday.
The series focuses on the central character Kipo (Karen Fukuhara). After spending most of her life underground, Kipo is separated from her family when a mutant attack sends her to the surface, which is filled with peculiar and deadly creatures.
In the animated series, Brown portrays the voice of Lio, Kipo's loving father who harbors an interest in science and music. Aside from Brown and Fukuhara, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts also stars Deon Cole, Coy Stewart, Sydney Mikayla and Dee Bradley Baker.
Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts will premiere on Netflix on January 14.
