Although many may know her as the eldest sister of Meagan Good, La’Myia Good is a talented actress in her own right, amassing an extensive list of credits in television shows Parent Hood, Smart Guy, City Guys, The Parkers, ER and Judging Amy.

Good was also known as singer, having appeared as one of the original four members of the R&B girl group Isyss. Here are four of La’Myia Good’s most memorable film and TV appearances.

The Wood

In 1999, Good made her film debut as Monica in Rick Famuyiwa’s classic coming of age film, The Wood, which starred Omar Epps, Richard T. Jones and Taye Diggs.

Smart Guy

In 1998, Good made an appearance as Tina in the classic ’90s sitcom, Smart Guy. Starring Tahj Mowry, the series follows the adventures of  T.J. Henderson, a precocious elementary school student who gets bumped up from the fourth grade to high school.

The Parkers

In 2000, Good appeared as Aysia in the Moesha spinoff, The Parkers. The show, which ran for five seasons from 1999 to 2004 followed Moesha’s BFF Kim (Countess Vaughn) and her mother Nikki Parker (Mo’Nique), both of whom joined forces to attend college together.

Death Saved My Life.

Recently, Good appeared alongside her sister as Leigh in the Lifetime thriller flick Death Saved My Life. In an interview with Shadow and Act, La’Myia revealed how Meagan rallied for her to get the role of Leigh.

“It was still a process obviously as the producers and casting weren’t as familiar with my work,” La’Myia told Shadow and Act of the audition process. “We sent in my reel and it was quick, flash and in, and hurry. They hit my team back and said, ‘Oh yes, we would love to have her on.’ My sister definitely rallied for me. And it was great that I was able to validate me by putting in the work and having something to show.”
