Power fans will be seeing a lot more of Larenz Tate’s Councilman Rashad Tate in Power Book II: Ghost season 2. The actor, who originated the role as a primary character on the original Power series, has been upped to series regular for Power Book II: Ghost. This comes as a spinoff on the character for the Power universe, Power Book V: Influence, has been in development.

In season 2, “with the loss of the New York gubernatorial race still fresh, Tate refuses to feel sorry for himself. Some guidance from his brother pushes Tate to stop waiting for something to happen and use his influence to take action – leading him to unexpected places. After sampling a taste of power, he won’t be satisfied until he has the full meal, but he’ll have to decide what he’s willing to sacrifice for his seat at the table.”

Season 2 also stars Michael Rainey Jr. as Tariq St. Patrick, Mary J. Blige as Monet Stewart Tejada, Shane Johnson as Cooper Saxe, Gianni Paolo as Brayden Weston, Daniel Bellomy as Ezekiel ‘Zeke’ Cross, Paige Hurd as “Lauren Baldwin,” Cliff “Method Man” Smith as Davis MacLean, Melanie Liburd as Caridad ‘Carrie’ Milgram, Daniel Sunjata as Mecca, Berto Colon as Lorenzo Tejada, Woody McClain as Cane Tejada, Lovell Adams-Gray as Dru Tejada, LaToya Tonodeo as Diana Tejada, Alix Lapri as Effie Morales and Paton Ashbrook as Jenny Sullivan.
