A writer on the upcoming Law & Order: SVU spinoff centered on Christopher Meloni’s Elliot Stabler has been fired after threatening violence in a Facebook post.

Dick Wolf, the creator of the franchise and head of one of its production companies, released a statement saying, “I will not tolerate this conduct, especially during our hour of national grief. I am terminating Craig Gore immediately.”

In a post on Facebook, Gore held a weapon outside his house with the caption, “Curfew…”

In a comment on the post, Gore said that he would “light motherf***ers up who are trying to f**k with my property,” referring to protests on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. He also said, “Sunset is being looted two blocks from me. You think I wont light motherf***ers up who are trying to f**k w/ my property I worked all my life for? Think again…”

Gore’s post and comments surfaced on Twitter, where he was the subject of immediate criticism and backlash. Meloni himself responded to one post, clarifying that Gore was not the showrunner of the forthcoming series and “he had no idea who this person is or what they do.”

Turns out, Gore was on the writing staff for the show and according to his Facebook, would be created as a co-executive producer on the show, which has the working title of Law & Order: Organized Crime. 

Gore was previously a writer on Wolf’s Chicago P.D.
