The CW’s latest spinoff of The Vampire Diaries has cast The Quad‘s Peyton Alex Smith as a series regular.
Legacies will follow The Originals in the trilogy of series.
The series will tell the story of the next generation of supernatural beings at The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted as they come of age in the most unconventional way possible, nurtured to be their best selves, in spite of their worst impulses. Will these young witches, vampires and werewolves become the heroes they want to be – or the villains they were born to be? As they fight to protect their secret, their town of Mystic Falls and eventually the world, they will have to rely on ancient folklore and tales to learn how to battle their far-reaching enemies.
Smith will portray Rafael, “a dangerously charismatic and newly-triggered werewolf. With a combination of a pure and loyal heart mixed with a lifetime of abuse and anger, Rafael wants to be a good person but lives in a constant struggle with the emotional demons that have plagued him through a difficult childhood.”
Aside from The Quad, the actor recently appeared in Kathryn Bigelow’s Detroit.
The series premieres this October.
