HBO Max’s hit reality competition Legendary is coming back May 6.

The second season of the show will see the return of Jameela Jamil as host, with Dashaun Wesley the show’s MC and Leiomy Maldonado, Law Roach and Megan Thee Stallion as judges.

As with the first season, several dance houses will come together on the stage to battle to see who will be named the most legendary house of all, including winning a cash prize and trophy. Aside from the competition, the show provides yet another opportunity for viewers to learn more about ballroom culture, including dance styles, the idea of chosen families, and the inner lives of LGBTQ+ people creating a community that welcomes them. According to the official description:

This season features ten new houses igniting the catwalk to battle for the legendary trophy and the $100,000 cash prize. Each episode is a themed extravaganza to see who will be named superior house and move one step closer to becoming “Legendary.”

Special guest judges for this season range from TV and movie stars to pop stars. Guest judges include Tiffany Haddish, Taraji P. Henson, Nicco Annan, Amiya Scott, Normani, Demi Lovato and Adam Lambert.

The series became hit with fans and critics, with Vulture calling the show “a master class in creativity and showmanship.” The show was also a hit on TikTok, gaining over 3 billion views on the social media service. Many fans have been excited about ballroom culture being celebrated in the mainstream, especially with a ballroom legend like Maldonado, who has performed in balls and on television throughout her career, with credits including America’s Best Dance Crew and Pose. Wesley also hails from ballroom culture and has been featured in NBC’s production of The Wiz! Live as well as Pose, among others.
