Lena Waithe has been cast in Westworld season 3 on HBO. Details about her role are unknown.

This will likely be Waithe’s biggest television role since her starring role in Netflix’s Master of None, which last aired in 2017. The multi-hyphenate is busy in all facets of the industry. She’s the creator and producer of Showtime’s The Chithe executive producer and a writer for BET’s Boomerang and Universal’s film, Queen & Slimwhich debuts later this year, is produced by Waithe. She also has multiple projects in different stages of development at multiple networks.

A dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the birth of a new form of life on Earth, the show was created for television by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, who are also executive producers. The show debuted on HBO in October 2016 to become the network’s most-watched first-year series ever.

The show’s ensemble cast includes Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Ed Harris, James Marsden, Luke Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins and Tessa Thompson.

Westworld season 2 is expected to premiere in 2020, following a trend of the show debuting a new season every other year.
