Lennie James of “The Walking Dead” fame has joined Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford in “Sicario” director Denis Villeneuve’s “Blade Runner” sequel.

From a script written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, based on Philip K. Dick’s “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep,” the sequel’s storyline is currently being kept under wraps; all we know at this is that it will follow the events that unfolded in Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi classic, set several decades after the original which starred Harrison Ford as a bounty hunter tracking down rogue androids.

No word on what role James has signed up to play.

Ridley Scott is executive producing the film with Thunderbird Films CEOs Tim Gamble and Frank Giustra.

Alcon Entertainment’s Cynthia Sikes Yorkin will produce with Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove.

Warner Bros. and Sony are handling distribution.

Lennie James recently wrapped filming on Ernest Dickerson’s “Double Play.”

He is repped by Independent Talent Group, UTA, and Lasher Group.
