Even though fans of The Office have welcomed Leslie David Baker’s Kickstarter for his Office spinoff Uncle Stan: Coming Out of Retirement, the star has had to face racist trolls.

As reported by The Root, Baker’s Kickstarter exceeded its $300,000 goal with overwhelming support. But despite the support, Baker posted several racist posts he’s received on his Instagram. One in particular showed Black hanged men.

“For those of you who don’t believe racism is still alive in the world…here’s the proof,” he wrote on Instagram Aug. 11.

“Our goal has simply been to entertain and give fans a quality series,” Baker continued. “These rants are evidence that there is still a great deal of work that needs to be done here in America regarding racism. Bigotry and hate will not be allowed to irradicate art or Black people. Enough said.”

Baker has since received an outpouring of support from fans. According to the replies on the Instagram post, at least one of the accounts sending racist posts to Baker has been deactivated.
