A third season renewal for Fox’s hit show Lethal Weapon is hanging in the wind due to has a huge problem in the form of one of its leads, Clayne Crawford.

Deadline’s Nellie Andreeva reports that Crawford, who plays Martin Riggs opposite Damon Wayans’ Roger Murtaugh, “has had a history of bad behavior on the show.” According to Andreeva’s intel, Crawford has been “disciplined several times over complaints of emotional abuse and creating a hostile environment.” Supposedly, things became so bad that other actors and crewmembers felt uncomfortable being on set with Crawford.

At this point in time, recasting Crawford with another actor is being explored. If Fox and Warner Bros. TV decide to recast, it would be one of the rare times a lead actor in a well-regarded TV show has been replaced.

However, you could also assume Crawford’s place in the show was never as secure as Wayans’, whose presence helped the pilot script get greenlit in 2016. According to Deadline, Crawford was “a relatively late addition,” being cast a month later.

With how successful Lethal Weapon has been, it won’t be easy for Fox to let go. We’ll have to see what happens.
