LeToya Luckett Joins 'Power Book III: Raising Kanan' Season 2 As Jukebox's Mother

Power Book III: Raising Kanan has added a quad of actors in recurring roles for its upcoming second season. LeToya Luckett, Omar J. Dorsey, Krystal Joy Brown and Paulina Singer have joined the Power prequel.

Luckett will play Kenya, Jukebox’s mother and Marvin’s ex who "left their family when Jukebox was very young, tried to make it in LA as a singer, but three years ago, she moved back to New York. Upon her return, she settles in Harlem where church is a big part of her life."
 
Dorsey will play Cartier "Duns" Fareed, "who is handsome, charismatic, overflowing with confidence, and always dressed to kill. Cartier sucks up all the oxygen in any room into which he steps. He has a vision for business, expanding into less crowded markets like DC and Baltimore and even into other types of business, like music and art."

Brown will play Renée Timmons, Marvin's anger management therapist who "can hold her own with anyone, especially the people that attend her class and need help working through their issues."
 
Singer will play Zisa, "a beautiful up-and-coming singer looking to make a name for herself with Lou and Crown's label."

Season 2 will see the return of stars Patia Miller, MeKai Curtis, Omar Epps London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Hailey Kilgore, Joey Bada$$, Toby Sandeman, Shanley Caswell, Quincy Brown and Antonio Ortiz.
 
Series creator Sascha Penn returns as showrunner and will continue executive producing with Power universe creator Courtney A. Kemp and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

The Power universe series are executive produced by Kemp through her production company End of Episode, 50 Cent through G-Unit Film and Television, and Mark Canton through Atmosphere Entertainment MM.

Season 1 of the sohw is currently airing on Starz.
