Damon Wayans is coming back to ABC with his new comedy project.

After starring in My Wife and Kids at the broadcast network from 2001-2005, a new comedy is in development that Wayans will co-create and star in.

According to Deadline, Wayans is creating a sitcom with the working title of Let’s Stay Together with his My Wife and Kids co-creator Don Reo. The sitcom will be, according to Deadline’s sources, “a family comedy for a new kind of family.” That kind of family includes Wayans as a single father whose millennial kids (and their own children) live with him. The series’ storyline is said to take inspiration from Wayans’ life. Both Wayans and Reo are listed as executive producers and writers.

The new sitcom can be seen as a new chapter in Wayans’ career after his publicized battles on the set of FOX’s Lethal Weapon. In addition to on-set conflicts with co-star Clayne Crawford, Wayans said that felt the show’s brutal schedule left him little time to take care of his health and be with his family.
