LeVar Burton and several other actors have joined season 2 of Blindspotting on Starz, Ziwe season 2 has enlisted Chet Hanks and more guests, HBO announced the premiere date for Season 2 of the critically-acclaimed comedy series Hacks and more in today’s Shadow and Act news roundup.

Showtime releases trailer for 'Ziwe' season 2 and reveals guests

The highly-anticipated second season of ZIWE is right around the corner and Showtime just released an official trailer leading up to its premiere.

Season 2 of Ziwe includes all-new interviews, musical numbers, guest stars, sketches and more. It will debut Friday, April 29 on streaming and on-demand for all Showtime subscribers, before making its on-air debut on Sunday, May 1 at 11 p.m. ET/PT.

The first part of the season has six episodes. The second part of the season will drop later this year. Guests include Charlamagne Tha God, Chet Hanks, Emily Ratajkowski, Ilana Glazer, Hannibal Buress, Nicole Byer, Mia Kalifa, Adam Pally and Deux Moi, along with special appearances by Jane Krakowski and Luann de Lesseps.

Brandon Claybon to guest on 9-1-1 [Exclusive]

Shadow and Act can exclusively report that Brandon Claybon is set to guest in an upcoming episode of 9-1-1. 

Claybon will appear on the Season 5 episode “Dumb Luck,” airing April 18 on FOX. ”

He will play the role of Eric Shaw, “a newlywed in Los Angeles.  He is an attractive, charming guy who is celebrating the purchase of his high-rise condo when a crisis occurs.”

The role will appear alongside Peter Krause’s Bobby Nash) and Anirudh Pisharody’s Ravi.

Claybon has previously appeared in roles on shows such as Stumptown. 

 

'Hacks' drops season 2 teaser

We now have an official release date for Season 2 of the hit HBO Max series Hacks. 

The Emmy-winning comedy will return on Thursday, May 12 with 2 brand new episodes.

Here’s the official logline for the season: “The dark mentorship between legendary Las Vegas comedian Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and her young, entitled writer Ava (Hannah Einbinder) continues to evolve as the two travel across the country workshopping Deborah’s new stand-up act.”

Hacks stars Smart, Einbinder, Carl Clemons-Hopkins and Jane Adams, who were all nominated for Emmys for the first season.

Returning cast members include Christopher McDonald, Kaitlin Olson, Paul W. Downs, Poppy Liu, Rose Abdoo, Mark Indelicato, Meg Stalter, Angela E. Gibbs, Luenell, Johnny Sibilly, Joe Mande, Ally Maki and Lorenza Izzo.

Laurie Metcalf, Martha Kelly, Ming-Na Wen, Susie Essman, Margaret Cho and Devon Sawa join in the new season as recurring guest stars.

New cast members joining Season 2 of Starz's 'Blinspotting'

Starz has announced that a few new faces will be joining Season 2 of Blindspotting.

LeVar Burton  Katlynn Simone Smith, Tamera Tomakili and Tim Chantarangsu have joined the cast of the critically acclaimed comedy series for season two, in recurring roles.

Recurring cast members Margo Hall, April Absynth, Lance Holloway, Andrew Chappelle and Utkarsh Ambudkar are also said to “return for season two in expanded recurring roles.”

Additionally, rappers E-40, P-Lo and Too $hort will guest star as themselves in the upcoming season.

The show stars Emmy Award-winner Jasmine Cephas Jones, Academy Award-winner Helen Hunt, Benjamin Earl Turner, Atticus Woodward, Jaylen Barron, Candace Nicholas-Lippman, and Rafael Casal.
