Lil Jon Explains Why He Won't Be A Rapper Turned Actor

“…I just want to do animated because to be an actor, you have to really polish and refine your craft. I don’t want want to half do it. I want to do it real. I just want to concentrate on the animated side and more television shows.”

That’s what rapper/producer Lil Jon told Movieline when asked about any acting aspirations outside of the voice work he currently does.

Jon, a self-described “movie freak,” was actually asked to host a screening of The Devil’s Double at the Los Angeles Film Festival. The film, starring Dominic Cooper and directed by Lee Tamahori (XXX: State of the Union and Die Another Day), is an action movie based on the true story of Saddam Hussain‘s son Uday Hussain.

Check out the trailer below. The film hits theaters July 29.
