Another major icon in the music world wants Teyana Taylor to play her in a biopic.

In an interview with Essence, pioneering rap legend Lil Kim said R&B songstress Teyana Taylor is the only one who can portray her in her younger years.

“It can only be a girl that’s from the hood that I’m from. I love Teyana, she’s my only other thought. There’s nobody else in the industry at all but Teyana,” she said. “But, even before Teyana — I love Teyana, but she’s from Harlem –before Teyana, I would love to give some little girls from Brooklyn a chance so I can connect. Really connect.”

If Lil Kim’s wish to have Taylor portray her on-screen comes to fruition, it wouldn’t be the first time the rap icon was immortalized in cinema. Power actress Naturi Naughton portrayed Lil Kim in the 2009 film Notorious, which chronicled the life of rapper Notorious B.I.G. However, the Hard Core rapper has been vocal about her disdain of Naughton’s portrayal of her.

Recently, when Dionne Warwick was asked who she would like to play her in a biopic series, she selected Taylor, noting their resemblance to one another.
