Lil Rel Howery has turned heads for his roles in movies like Jordan Peele’s Oscar-winning directorial debut Get Out, and television series like Fox’s Rel. 

Now, the Shadow And Act RISING Award recipient, comedian, actor and writer will star in his first HBO special.

“Rel brings such a funny perspective to his storytelling and we’re so happy to be working with him on his first HBO special,” said Nina Rosenstein, executive vice president, HBO Programming in a statement. 

The hour-long presentation was taped in front of a live audience in Los Angeles. It is executive produced by Lil Rel, Jerrod Carmichael, Bo Burnham, Chris Storer, Jeff Tomsic and Avi Gilbert. Carmichael also directs the special.
