Lisa Bonet Joins ‘Ray Donovan’

“Ray Donovan” is a series that’s on my binge-watch list (along with about a dozen other series that premiered in the last 3 – 4 years that I haven’t been following).

The Showtime network drama, which follows a “fixer” for Hollywood’s elite, with a past that continues to haunt him, stars Liev Schreiber.

A hit for Showtime, the acclaimed series wrapped up its 3rd season last fall, and was renewed for a 4th season, which will return later this year.

Announced today, joining the season 4 cast of “Ray Donovan” is Lisa Bonet, in what the network says will be a a major role as a new character named Marisol, who is described as “an unstable woman with a damaging secret.” No other details are available at this time, although we can certainly count on her character crossing paths with Donovan in some way.

Other cast members include Paula Malcomson as Abby Donovan, Ray’s wife; Eddie Marsan as Terrence “Terry” Donovan, Ray’s older brother, A former boxer who suffers from Parkinson’s disease; Dash Mihok as Brendan “Bunchy” Donovan, Ray’s younger brother – an alcoholic; Pooch Hall as Daryll Donovan, Ray’s younger half-brother, a professional boxer who also drives limos; Steven Bauer as Avi Rudin, Ray’s right-hand man; Katherine Moennig as Lena Barnum, Ray’s investigative assistant; Kerris Dorsey as Bridget Donovan, Ray’s daughter; Devon Bagby as Conor Donovan, Ray’s son; and Jon Voight as Mickey Donovan, Ray’s father.

Lisa Bonet was most recently seen in “The Red Road” – a drama series that airs on SundanceTV, which starred hubby Jason Momoa.
