If it’s one thing the ladies of The View are going to get heated about, it’s politics. No one goes as hard for their political party more than the conservative hosts who’ve been on the show.

But Sunny Hostin got things popping when she asked Ana Navarro why she still aligns herself with the Republican party.

Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro debate about Navarro’s Republican status

The debate was sparked about Navarro being a Republican during a discussion about Lindsey Graham voting not to confirm Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson. Navarro said that she was wrong to stand by Sen. Lindsey Graham after President Biden named Jackson as his Supreme Court nominee, and that’s when things went left.

“It’s so true! Ana and I have this argument all the time,” Hostin said. “I always say, ‘Why are you still a Republican?'” Navarro interrupted to ask why Hostin “is still a Catholic” despite Hostin not being in agreement with the Catholic Church on certain issues. “Yes, but the Church did not try to destroy democracy in this country!”

HHostin shot back: "That is very, very different than talking about a political party that doesn't even exist anymore!"

“Sunny, what party was Abraham Lincoln?” Navarro then asked Hostin. “Who passed the Voter Registration Act the first time?” “The Republican Party that you loved doesn’t exist anymore!” Hostin snapped. “It’s the party of insurrectionists. It’s the party of traitors, white supremacists. It’s not the party you love!”

Navarro fought back.

“What you don’t understand is that no matter how much you want it to happen, the Republican Party is not going to disappear,” she told Hostin. “And so in my mind, what we need to do is to have two strong, healthy parties competing for your vote, and my vote!”

Hostin claimed Navarro is the only “non-loca in the party,” Navarro disagreed. “There’s a lot of people who are supporting people like Liz Cheney, like Mitt Romney, like Adam Kinzinger!” she said.
