With Disney tapping into its treasure trove of animated films from the Disney Renaissance to adapt into live-action motion pictures, attention is now on The Little Mermaid. Following in the vein of The Lion King and Aladdin, the 1989 Disney classic is slated to get the live-action remake treatment. While news of who will play the roles of Ariel and Ursula haven’t been announced, one of music’s faves is letting it be known she wants to play the latter.

In a tweet posted on Sunday, singer and rapper Lizzo expressed interest in playing Ursula. “Just gonna put this back out there. IT IS MY DREAM TO PLAY URSULA IN THE LIL MERMAID,” she said in a tweet. Not leaving doubt in anyone’s minds if she’s right for the role, Lizzo posted a viral video as her audition tape.

In the video, the Minnesota-born artist is seen sitting on the back of a golf cart in a multicolored dress saying the phrase, “Bye, b***h” and letting out an evil laugh reminiscent of Disney’s great villains before the vehicle drives off. With rumors of Lady Gaga being up for the role of Ursula, many fans of The Little Mermaid have tossed their hats into the bucket as to whom should portray Ursula, with names such as Lizzo and Danielle Brooks being thrown around.
