Currently a series regular on the CBS police procedural “NCIS: Los Angeles,” a spin-off of NCIS (which itself is a spin-off of the naval legal drama “JAG”), LL Cool J is building on his relationship with the network, but this time getting behind the camera to produce a new scripted comedy series titled “Brotherhood.”

Based on the UK series of the same name (not the 2016 Noel Clarke feature film), “Brotherhood” follows two brothers who find their lives turned upside down after they move in together to raise their 10-year-old brother.

“Mom” writer/producer Michael Borkow is writing the script and will also executive produce alongside LL Cool J, Kenton Allen, Matthew Justice.

Currently in early development, should it go to series, the project will mark LL’s first-ever executive producer credit of a scripted series.

No word on whether we can expect the project to be led by black actors.

Also serving as host and producer on Spike TV’s unscripted hit show “Lip Sync Battle,” LL Cool J is repped by WME.
