An official press announcement has not been released yet, but according to Yaya Alafia’s Instagram account, it looks like Alafia has joined the cast of the action drama "The Good Guys," written and directed by Shane Black ("Iron Man 3") and produced by Joel Silver.
Alafia posted the following set picture with the caption "Keeping busy. Giving thanks and praise <3 #setlife," and which includes her very own chair, joined by those of Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe, who star in the Los Angeles-set film during the 1970’s.
In "The Good Guys", Gosling plays a detective who is hired by a gangster (Crowe) to search for a missing girl. Conflict arises when Gosling’s character begins unraveling a dangerous conspiracy. Matt Bomer and Magaret Qually also star. The latter will play the female lead role, the daughter of a corrupt chief of justice.
No word yet as of which character Alafia will portray. The actress recently wrapped up production the TV film "Whitney" -directed by Angela Bassett – in which she plays late singer Whitney Houston. Alafia will also be seen in Buddy Bolden bio-pic "Bolden!", which should be out sometime next year, hopefully.
