Lorraine Toussaint, Saniyya Sidney, David Straihairn, and Christopher Denham have joined previously-announced star Gugu Mbatha-Raw in LD Entertainment’s and Original Headquarters’ feature film “Fast Color,” an original dramatic thriller directed by Julia Hart.

“Fast Color” is the story of a woman named Ruth (Mbatha-Raw) who is forced to go on the run when her superhuman abilities are discovered. Now, years after having abandoned her family, the only place she has left to hide is home.

Toussaint will play Bo, Ruth’s mother. Sidney plays Lila, Ruth’s daughter. Strathairn plays Ellis, the sheriff of the small town where Ruth grew up. And Denham plays Bill, leader or the rogue government organization determined to capture Ruth.

SAG Award winner Lorraine Toussaint is most notably known for her role as seductive inmate Vee on the second season of the hit Netflix series “Orange is the New Black.” She can currently be seen in FOX’s television series “Rosewood.”

Sidney’s first role was Young Kizzy in the new adaptation of Alex Haley’s “Roots” with director Mario Van Peeples. She next played Taraji P. Henson’s daughter in the feature “Hidden Figures.” Next, she was hand picked by Denzel Washington to play Raynell in his film, “Fences.” Her first comedy is the upcoming “Kevin Hart’s Guide to Black History.”

Filming on “Fast Color” is underway in New Mexico.

LD Entertainment’s Mickey Liddell and Pete Shilaimon, and Original Headquarters’ Jordan Horowitz’s are producing.
