As the Power prequel Power Book III: Raising Kanan rounds out its main cast, it has made some key additions to the show.

Greenleaf Lovie Simone has nabbed a series regular role in the show, as well as London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Shanley Caswell, Toby Sandeman and Joey Bada$$. Quincy Brown has joined in a recurring role.

They all join previously-announced cast members Mekai Curtis, Patina Miller, Haley Kilgore and Omar Epps.

Simone will play Davina Harrison, a love interest for Kanan described as tough, sensitive, damaged, and resilient. Davina has a tough home life, and goes out with Buck Twenty, one of Unique’s crew. Her hard exterior softens quickly after she’s kicked out of school for getting into a fight and Kanan shows up for her in an unexpected way.

As for some of the others, London Brown will play Raq (Miller)’s older brother and the muscle of her drug operation. Mays will be her younger brother and confidant, Lou-Lou, who is the father of Jukebox (Kilgore).

Sascha Penn is the Power Book III: Raising Kanan showrunner. The show is produced by 50 Cent and franchise creator Courtney A. Kemp.

Other Power spinoffs at Starz include Power Book II: Ghostwhich stars Mary J. Blige. The two other spinoffs are one focused on Larenz Tate’s Councilman Tate and Joseph Sikora’s Tommy. Those two are still in early development.

Variety first reported Simone’s casting while Deadline reported the others.
