LUKE CAGE – Mike Colter

Season 1 of “Luke Cage” in his rear view mirror, and “The Defenders” up ahead, Mike Colter has joined Michael Pena and Lizzy Caplan in Universal’s sci-fi thriller “Extinction,” which follows a man (Pena) trying to save his family from an alien invasion.

“When the planet is invaded by an alien force, the man discovers an unknown strength as he fights for his family’s survival,” per Universal.

The character Colter plays is being kept underwraps for now.

The Good Universe and Mandeville Films project will be directed by Ben Young, who made his feature debut with last year’s critically acclaimed crime-drama, “Hounds of Love.” Eric Heisserer (“Arrival,” “Lights Out”), Spenser Cohen (“Moonfall”) and Bradley Caleb Kane wrote the screenplay for “Extinction” which is currently filming for an April 2018 release.

Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman of Mandeville are producing the film. Mandeville’s Alexander Young is executive producing, with Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake of Good Universe. Anna Halberg is co-producer. Universal’s Erik Baiers and Mika Pryce are overseeing the project for the studio.

Colter appears as Luke Cage in the upcoming “The Defenders” Netflix series, which is in production. He is repped by represented by WME, Silver Lining Entertainment, and McKuin Frankel Whitehead LLP.
