The question is, what role could that be, exactly? Storm? I’ll leave that to you Black Panther experts to discuss and debate.

In typically avoid “in talks” or “in negotiations” announcements, because there are often several actors who are being considered for any specific role in any specific movie, at any given time. So there could be other actresses in the mix for whatever the role is that she’s being considered for. Also, “in talks” doesn’t mean that she’ll eventually sign on and be a part of the film. There’ve been countless times when an actor has been announced as being “in talks” for a role in a film, but, days, weeks or months later, some other actor’s name is attached.

All that to say, let’s not start popping the champagne bottles yet until it’s a done deal – an agreement is reached, the ink on the contract is dry, etc.

But this is news that many fans have talked about the possibility of, so I’m not at all surprised that she would be in the mix for a role in the film.  It makes sense. And it is Lupita Nyong’o, so, of course I couldn’t resist mentioning it here.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Lupita Nyong’o is “in talks” to star opposite Chadwick Boseman in Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther,” which will be directed by Ryan Coogler.

The character was just introduced in “Captain America: Civil War’ to much fanfare, as Ta-Nehisi Coates also introduces new audiences to the work via the comic book series Marvel brought him on to write.

THR says N’yongo’s character has not been revealed, but adds that she will likely be T’Challa’s/Black Panther’s love interest. So, once again Black Panther experts, who could that be?

The movie is set for a February 2, 2018 release, with production starting in early 2017.
