Magic Johnson Is 'Not Looking Forward' To HBO's Lakers Scripted Drama Series

Magic Johnson is not a fan of HBO‘s upcoming Los Angeles Lakers series.

According to TMZ Sports, Johnson expressed his displeasure about Winning Time: The Rise Of The Lakers Dynasty starring Quincy Isaiah, Jason Segel, John C. Reilly, DeVaughn Nixon and Sally Field. The series, set in the 1980s at the start of the modern era of the Los Angeles Lakers basketball club, said he has his own show about the Lakers in development.

“No, we got different shows coming out,” he said. “I got one, then you got Jeanie Buss [with] one on Showtime [now owned by HBO] coming out. Those are the ones I’m looking forward to.”

“…I’m not looking forward to it,” he said of the HBO series. “I’m going to leave it at that.”
