Mahershala Ali Steps Into The Villain Role In These Exclusive Shots From 'Alita: Battle Angel'

The dark side looks good on Mahershala Ali in these exclusive shots provided to Shadow and Act from the upcoming film Alita: Battle Angel.

From James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez, the movie is based on Yukito Kishiro’s popular manga graphic novel series Gunnm and stars Rosa Salazar in the title role as a 26th-century cyborg who is discovered in a scrapyard by a scientist. With no memory of her previous life except her deadly martial-arts training, she becomes a bounty hunter, tracking down criminals. The action-adventure story is meant to serve as a backdrop to themes of self-discovery and the search for love.

Ali plays Vector, who is a character from the original manga version, Battle Angel Alita. Vector is a shady, scrapyard businessman who is determined to bring down Alita because he believes she disrupts the natural order of things.

He and Salazar star with Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Lana Condor, Ed Skrein, Jackie Earle Haley and Keean Johnson.
