Fans of the iconic sitcom 227 are in for a surprise!

Two of the sitcom’s stars, Emmy winner Jackee Harry and Marla Gibbs, are set to reunite on the long-running NBC soap opera Days Of Our Lives.

According to Soap Opera Digest, Gibbs is set to make her debut on the show as Olivia Price, the mother of Harry’s character, Paulina Price. If the dynamic between Olivia and Paulina is anything similar to Gibbs and Harry’s characters on 227, fans can expect a whole to of banter and bickering. Harry has starred on the show since earlier this year and will also star in the limited series spinoff, Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem.

For those unfamiliar, both Harry and Gibbs acted together on the classic NBC sitcom 227 in their respective roles of Mary Jenkins and Sandra Clark. The sitcom, which aired for five seasons on NBC from 1985 to 1990, depicted the dynamic between Mary and Sandra as contentious, with the two characters always going back and forth with one another.

For her portrayal of Sandra, Harry earned the 1987 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, becoming the first Black woman to do so and she’s the only one to win since. Outside of 227, Gibbs is also known for her portrayal of Florence Johnston on The Jeffersons.
