“Newspath needs to be the most competitive affiliate newsfeed, maintain excellent client relationships, and look for digital opportunities wherever possible,” said Rhodes. “Marsha’s career as a manager from Beijing to the broadcast center-and her recent experience at CBSN-make her the ideal colleague to continue these priorities as an executive.”

Cooke is an Emmy-winning veteran journalist who has held several key positions throughout her tenure with the news division. During that time Cooke has been integral to the Network’s coverage on some of the biggest stories of this generation domestically and around the world.

Most recently, Cooke was Executive Editor of Content at CBSN, CBS News’ 24/7 digital streaming news network, where she led the unit’s push into original documentaries and helped guide breaking news coverage of the Paris and Brussels terrorist attacks, the San Bernardino shooting, devastating storms throughout the country and the ongoing race for the White House.

Earlier, she was a producer for the “CBS Evening News with Dan Rather.” She began her career with CBS News in the Los Angeles bureau.
