Hot on the heels of the release of Black Panther another black Marvel character is getting their shine, this time as an animated series.

Marvel’s Moon Girl And Devil Dinosaur is in development at Disney Channel from Laurence Fishburne. The veteran actor exec produces grown-ish and black-ish. 

Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur follows the adventures of nine-year-old super-genius Lunella Lafayette, an African-American girl who is an inhuman. She teams up with her crimson-colored dinosaur and uses her smarts to save the day. Since the comic’s inception in 2016, the character has been uber popular. Storyline-wise, in the comics, she’s had plotlines crossing with RiRi Williams (the black teen who takes over for Tony Stark as Ironheart) and the X-Men.

Considering the connections, our minds are spinning on who might voice Moon Girl. black-ish star Marsai Martin? A few years back, she expressed interested in portraying the character.

Right now, it is unknown which Disney property the series would fall at: Disney Channel, Disney XD or Disney Junior.

This falls under Fishburne’s overall deal at ABC Studios.
