Marvel Reveals 'Black Panther 2' And 'Captain Marvel 2' Titles in Phase 4 Promo

In a new promo to highlight the new Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase 4 titles at Disney, the official titles for Ryan Coogler's Black Panther 2 and Nia DaCosta's Captain Marvel 2 have been revealed.

Black Panther 2 is now titled Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Captain Marvel 2 is now titled The Marvels.

Lupita Nyong'o stated recently how Coogler had reshaped the Black Panther sequel after Chadwick Boseman's death. In a recent interview with Yahoo! Movies, she said, “People will ask me, ‘Are you excited to go back?’ Excitement isn’t the word. I feel like I’m in a very pensive and meditative state when it comes to ‘Black Panther 2.’ His passing is still extremely raw for me,” Nyong’o said. “And I can’t even begin to imagine what it will be like to step on set and not have him there.”

The actress continued, “But at the same time we have a leader in Ryan, who feels very much like we do, who feels the loss in a very, very real way as well. And his idea, the way which he has reshaped the second movie is so respectful of the loss we’ve all experienced as a cast and as a world. So it feels spiritually and emotionally correct to do this. And hopefully, what I do look forward to, is getting back together and honoring what he started with us and holding his light through it. Because he left us a lot of light that we’re still going to be bathing in. I know that for sure.”

In addition to Black Widow and Shang-Chi footage, the promo gave the first look at Marvel's Eternals starring Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Brian Tyree Henry, Richard Madden, Lauren Ridloff and more.

The 2021 Marvel film slate includes Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Eternals and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The 2022 slate includes Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessThor: Love and ThunderBlack Panther: Wakanda Forever and The Marvels.

So far, 2023 has Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3Fantastic Four was listed in the promo but is undated.
