The Handmaid’s Tale star  O-T Fagbenle has landed a lead role opposite Scarlett Johansson in Marvel’s Black Widow.

He joins fellow stars Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz and David Harbour.

Most of the plot of the Cate Shortland-directed film is unknown besides that fact that it will be an origin story on Natasha Romanoff (Johansson) and how she went from a KGB spy assassin to a member of S.H.I.E.L.D. and an Avenger.

It is expected to premiere in either May or November of next year.

Fagbenle stars in season 3 of The Handmaid’s Tale, which returns for season 3 on June 5. Deadline first reported the news of his casting.

The next Marvel film, Avengers: Endgame, which stars Johansson, is in theaters later this month.
