Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger has been renewed for season 2 at Freeform.

The cast announced the news during their panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

A teaser announcement was also released, stating “Season 2 Will Be Mayhem,” obviously teasing to Emma Lahana’s character of Detective Brigid O’Reilly becoming the superhero Mayhem.

The show was the top series debut for the network in two years.

Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph), two teenagers from very different backgrounds who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers mysteriously linked to one another. Tandy can emit light daggers, and Tyrone can engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart, but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.

The series stars Olivia Holt, Aubrey Joseph, Andrea Roth, Gloria Reuben, Miles Mussenden, Carl Lundstedt, Emma Lahana, Jaime Zevallos and J.D. Evermore.

It is by Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios. Joe Pokaski (Underground) serves as showrunner and executive producer; Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s head of television, and Jim Chory also serve as executive producers.

Our review of the series reads, “This storytelling method sets the show apart from the rest of the pack of Marvel television and even television in general. It’s weird. It’s trippy. And it’s great. You probably haven’t seen TV like this before.”
