With performances on HBO shows The Deuce and The Wire, Method Man has made a smooth transition from the rap world to the upper echelon of the acting game. Now, it appears that the New York native wants to enter the MCU.

On July 15, the Grammy Award-winning rapper posted an image on his Instagram page, depicting himself as Lucas Bishop with a caption that read, “thanx for the look now if we can get @marvel and @marvelstudios on board.. er’body tag.” The rapper also tagged Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige’s respective Instagram accounts in the post.

The character of Lucas Bishop appears as one of the many mutants in the X-Men comics. A mutant with the ability to absorb all forms of radiant energy and expel it from his body, Bishop was last portrayed on screen by Omar Sy in the 2014 film X-Men: Days of Future Past.

With the X-Men franchise currently under the tutelage of Marvel Studios and up to be rebooted, it would be a fitting move to give Bishop another introduction to moviegoers and Method Man would be a viable choice for the role. Method Man, a self-confessed comic book lover, has appeared in films such as Red Tails, Keanu and Venom.

Rapper Dave East is currently portraying the rapper/actor in Hulu’s Wu-Tang: An American Saga.

Method Man has also lined up an upcoming role opposite Idris Elba and Jharrel Jerome in Concrete Cowboys
