The first trailer for MLK/FBI has been dropped by IFC Films. The film completed a festival run earlier this year, including its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The documentary is helmed by Sam Pollard.

Here’s the official description: MLK/FBI is an essential expose of the surveillance and harassment of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (labeled by the FBI as the “most dangerous” Black person in America), undertaken by J. Edgar Hoover and the U.S. government. Based on newly discovered and declassified files, as well as revelatory restored footage, the documentary explores the government’s history of targeting Black activists.

Our TIFF review reads, “MLK/FBI may just boil down to being an amalgamation of things we’ve suspected, but it is still a must-watch to be educated on how dangerous the FBI and government can be with surveillance, especially given current events. The timing is uncanny, but it is sure to have even more of an impact considering the political moment we are in.”
