Mo’Nique is haunted by evil spirits in the upcoming BET+ original film The Reading, which is executive produced by Lee Daniels.

The film is coming to the platform on Feb. 2. The film is also notable as the first collaboration between Mo’Nique and producer Lee Daniels since ending their decade-long feud.

The comedian and actress takes a serious turn in The Reading as an author who agrees to what she believes to be a fake reading, but the reading soon turns out to be a horrible decision. According to the official description:

Recently widowed author Emma Leeden (Mo’Nique) has agreed to a staged reading by 19-year-old Sky Brown (Chastity Sereal) to promote her new book “Invasion,” which details the horrific and traumatic loss of her family during an attack she barely survived. Quickly, those involved in the staged reading learn that Sky’s spiritual connection is real, and an unexpected evil emerges in a house they can’t escape.

The film also stars Denisha Hardeman, Ian Haywood, Charlene Brown, Lisa Alavi and Sara Alavi. Along with Daniels and Glaudé, other producers include Aundrea Posey and Joy Ganes.

Daniels and Mo’Nique’s next collaboration will be for his upcoming Netflix film, which is the first time that Daniels will have directed the star since Precious. Also a horror film, The Deliverance follows a mother who “fights for her life, her faith, and the souls of her children after discovering their new home is haunted by a demonic presence,” according to the logline. The Deliverance stars Omar Epps, Demi Singleton, Miss Lawrence, Anthony B. Jenkins, Andra Day, Glenn Close, Aunjanue Ellis, Caleb McLaughlin and Tasha Smith.
