More Chatter Of A 'Living Single' Reboot Arises After Hints From Two Of Its Stars

We keep getting hints at a possible Living Single reboot that could be on the horizon. The latest news from Erika Alexander and Kim Coles undoubtedly suggests that a reboot of the popular ’90s show about a group of friends and working women in New York City is actively in the works.

Alexander, who played lawyer Maxine Shaw on the show, uploaded an Instagram post July 30 that read, “Anyone need a REBOOT?!?” with the hashtags #maxineshaweffect, #reboot, and #livingsingle.

This is backed up by what seems to be confirmation from Kim Coles, who played airheaded secretary Synclaire James-Jones, said to ET about a “reboot-ish” project coming next month.

“….Something is happening next month that I cannot talk about and that’s all I’m going to say,” she said (as reported by Vibe). “The six of us together, a reboot-ish. That’s all I can say.”

Last year on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, Queen Latifah, who played Synclaire’s cousin and magazine entrepreneur Khadijah James fielded a call about a possible Living Single reboot, to which she said, “Funny you should ask. We’re actually working on it…It’s not there yet, but hopefully we can get it happening.”

Living Single aired between 1993 to 1998, and also starred Kim Fields as Synclaire and Khadijah’s fashionista roommate Regine Hunter, Terrence ‘T.C.’ Carson as debonair next door neighbor Kyle Barker and John Henton as Overton Wakefield Jones, the apartment complex’s handyman, Kyle’s bumbling roommate, and Synclaire’s eventual husband.
