MTV has canceled freshman scripted comedy series “Loosely Exactly Nicole” and “Mary + Jane.”

From 3 Arts Entertainment, “Loosely Exactly Nicole” stars Nicole Byer playing a version of herself: Nicole is living the Hollywood dream. Well, Hollywood adjacent – the deep valley to be precise and it’s not so much a dream but a struggle. Exuding her special brand of confidence and irreverence, the series demonstrates the hilarious missteps of what it means to be out on your own for the first time. She deals with humiliating auditions, unpaid electric bills, friendship ups and downs, and the battlefield that is Tinder as she slowly but surely finds her voice as a comedian.

Joining Byer in front of the camera are Fahim Anwar as Sidd; Kimrie Lewis-Davis as Sarah; Rachel Hilson as Emily; and Sophie von Haselberg as Tess.

The series premiered last fall and ran for 10 episodes. It will not be renewed for a second season.

Meanwhile, marijuana-themed comedy “Mary + Jane,” which is produced by Snoop Dogg, also premiered last fall, unfolding over 10 episodes as well. It will not be returning for another season.
