MTV's 'Catfish' Exclusive Highlights All-New Surprises And Teases Return Of Max Joseph

MTV’s hit internet connection series Catfish: The TV Show is back for a new season and from a brand new, exclusive sneak peek, the upcoming season has a lot in store for fans.

In the new season, hosts Nev Schulman and Kamie Crawford are in for a wild ride as they uncover even more catfish duping online friends, family, or potential love interests.

Shadow and Act has an exclusive clip, which also teases an appearance from former co-host Max Joseph, who is returning to the show for the first time in 4 years.

Here's an official description of the new season:

Catfish The TV Show hosts Nev Schulman and Kamie Crawford are back traveling the country, boosted by their boots-on-the-ground powers to track down leads as they dive deep into murky depths to uncover how far catfishing goes in 2022! The all-new episodes of Catfish are full of many new surprises not seen in previous seasons, from small-town elusive crushes to mysterious international pop stars, love hangs in the balance around every turn!

In an interview with S& Unscripted earlier this year, Nev and Kamie said that the excuses catfish are now using are "pretty insane"

“There’s so many different excuses that people give. Obviously, having the pandemic has helped with a lot of people who are trying to maintain their double lives,” Kamie Crawford told us. “People will say that they’re caring for their immunocompromised relative and maybe that’s not true, but like, who are you to negate that? That is somebody’s reality when you’re talking to somebody online during a pandemic? It’s just there are so many different excuses and things that people give. I try to think of what’s the craziest excuse that we’ve heard recently? I don’t know. They’re all pretty insane. Sometimes you’re like, ‘OK, this is semi-understandable.’ But we have people who say that they live in three different states and they’re like, ‘Oh, I have to hop from state to state every time.’”

“I think for me, weirdly like it’s always the people who just say, ‘Oh, I, I’m too anxious to.’ And I because on one hand, I think that seems like a very reasonable excuse and understandable,” Nev Schulman shared. “But at the same time, you’re saying that you’re not willing to FaceTime, but you’re the one who initiated this relationship, you’re the one who’s sending pictures of a person that’s clearly comfortable in front of a camera posing who has social media like there’s just the subtle but like enormous contradiction of that excuse to me is always strangely like the hardest to believe.”
