Natasha Rothwell Reveals The Gift She Got Her 'Insecure' Co-Stars In Honor Of The Show Ending

Those who watched the season finale of Insecure saw our fave characters get their own happy endings.

Molly (Yvonne Orji) got married to Taurean, Issa (Issa Rae) reunited with Lawrence (Jay Ellis) and Kelly (Natasha Rothwell) got married to Desmond and announced she’s expecting a baby.

In an interview with Insider, Rothwell revealed the special gift she gave her Insecure co-stars to commemorate the show’s ending.

“My cast gift to everyone is this bracelet and it has the coordinates of South LA on it,” Rothwell said. “We love each other. We’re so corny. So I keep it on. I wear it.”

Rothwell went on to reveal the gift, a gold bracelet with the show’s title engraved inside. The writer, actress and breakout star reflected on her Insecure journey.

“It’s so funny because the first season I experienced so many personal firsts,” Rothwell said. “I was first a guest star and then I got onto season two as a series regular. Each thing was so precious and special and exciting.”

Not only did Rothwell act and write on the HBO comedy, she also added director as her list of credits during Insecure’s tenure. The triple threat talent said the piece of advice she got from Jen Regan, a write during the show’s first season.

“I wanted to get sad about shooting the season finale for season one,” Rothwell said. “And she was just like, ‘Always celebrate because season two is never guaranteed. Season three is never guaranteed.’ It really checked me and it’s something that stuck with me. I have to celebrate each thing as a moment because especially in this industry, you can shoot a whole movie and never see the light of day. I feel like it’s just been a really cool journey.”

The full season of Insecure is streaming on HBO Max.
