Netflix And ESPN Team Up For Michael Jordan Docuseries 'The Last Dance'

Netflix and ESPN are teaming up for The Last Dance, a 10-part docuseries chronicling the life and legacy of basketball GOAT Michael Jordan.

The documentary series will focus on the rapid rise of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, which coincided with the rising popularity of the NBA during the 1990s. The feature will include commentary from prominent athletes, as well as more than 500 hours of never before seen footage from the Chicago Bulls’ championship run during the 1997-1998 season.

The Last Dance will be directed by Jason Hehir and produced by Mike Tollin. The series will include contributions from Michael and is produced by Mandalay Sports Media in association with NBA Entertainment and Jump 23. If Netflix’s history is any indication, the documentary will be another critically acclaimed project for the streaming service, which has produced documentaries such as The 13th and What Happened Miss Simone? The Last Dance is set to premiere in 2019.
