Netflix is about to close a competitive bidding situation with the pitch vehicle for Black Stallions, a comedy on “rival brother jockeys” starring Lil Rel Howery, Don Cheadle and Kevin Hart.

Howery and Cheadle would be the two leads.

Uncle Drew writer Jay Longino would pen the script.

The official deals are still to be made.

Hart has Night School for release later this year; Cheadle is in production on his new Showtime comedy, Ball Street, and Howery’s upcoming projects include Netflix’s Bird Box with Sandra Bullock. His Fox series, Rel, also premieres this fall.
