The Netflix Kanye West documentary, jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy, has dropped its first teaser and revealed its premiere date on the streamer.

Premiering its first installment on Feb. 16, the documentary will follow West’s formative years trying to breakthrough in the music business to his days as the megastar and trendsetter he became. The documentary will drop in three parts over the following weeks.

The three-part documentary directed by Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah. It is  is over 20 years in the making and, from the teaser, features a plethora of behind the scenes footage from the different eras of Kanye’s career.

The filmmakers had a front-row seat to Kanye’s beginnings and his rise, telling stories like how a young Kanye delivered beats to Jay Z. “He would come with beats,” recalled Coodie. “I remember he had the one beat that Jay-Z picked later on in life called H to Izz-O [‘Izzo (H.O.V.A.)’]. Yo, this was so ill. Here was this kid with braces … talented. This dude wasn’t scared of nothing.”

It is described by Netflix as “is an intimate and revealing portrait of Kanye West’s experience, showcasing both his formative days trying to break through and his life today as a global brand and artist.”

Premiere date and teaser:

jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy premiere virtually the Sundance Film Festival this month. Prior to its Netflix drop, on Feb. 10, Iconic Events Releasing and TIME Studios will debut Act 1 (Vision) in theaters nationwide before it hits the streaming service.
