You were expecting a PG rating maybe?
I’m sure it’s to no one’s surprise that the MPAA, this week, awarded an R rating to Spike Lee’s Oldboy, which opens on October 25th.
According to the MPAA, the film got for rating for “strong brutal violence, disturbing images, some
graphic sexuality and nudity, and language.“
In other words, all the stuff that makes a film worth watching.
Though it would be interesting to wonder if Spike had to trim anything in the film to get an R rating, and if a stronger director’s cut could be in the offering sometime later.
We shall see…
