One of the founding members of the Wu-Tang Clan, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, is finally getting the biopic treatment.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the RZA is producing the film about his cousin O.D.B, otherwise known by his real name Russell Tyrone Jones. Columbia Pictures is behind the film and is looking for a director.

RZA told Rolling Stone how a biopic about his cousin has been in the works for a long time.

“I think it’s a great idea, and there has been talk about it,” said RZA to Rolling Stone. “There are a few wheels in motion with one done by our first cousin Rayshawn; he was the young guy there watching everything that happened. Him and O.D.B.’s wife have been talking and he has a pretty interesting script. I just saw a 12-minute teaser that he shot about a year ago and it felt pretty fucking cool. I watched it and was like, ‘Wow, you may have something here.’ He has the best thing that I’ve seen so far.”

O.D.B. had an illustrious and checkered history in the limelight; aside from being a part of one of the most popular rap groups of the ’90s and 2000s, O.D.B. kept finding himself in trouble with the law and with drug addiction, the latter of which killed him in 2004.

RZA has also had his effect on Hollywood by directing projects like The Man with the Iron Fists and acting in The Man with the Iron Fists, American Gangster, Fresh Off the Boat, Snowfall and Californication. He also has several projects in the works aside from the O.D.B biopic, including Life in a Year, Thriller and Hard Luck Love Song.
