Octavia Spencer gave Britney Spears some advice on her upcoming marriage to fiance Sam Ashgari, and Ashgari has responded–along with the internet.

Entertainment Weekly reports that after news about Spears and Ashgari’s engagement went public on Spears’ Instagram, Spencer wrote in the comments about Spears needed to get some paperwork taken care of.

“Make him sign a prenup,” Spencer wrote, garnering over 25,000 likes. Ashgari also responded to the comment with a “100” emoji, clearly in agreement.

Ashgari also talked about the prenup comment in his Instagram Stories.

“Thank you everyone who is concerned about the prenup!” he wrote. “Of course we’re getting iron clad prenup to protect my jeep and shoe collection in case she dumps me one day.” He ended his statement with two “laughing while crying” emojis.

People on Twitter seemed to be of two minds about Spencer‘s comments. While many applauded Spencer for giving Spears some legal advice, especially in light of the hard battle Spears faced to be released from her father’s conservatorship, others felt like Spencer was out of line with her comment.

“Octavia Spencer a real one for her comment on Britney Spears’ engagement!” wrote one commenter. “Get you a friend like Octavia.”

Another said, “Nah, that public prenup comment by Octavia Spencer on Britney getting engaged was distasteful. Good looking out, but what about a DM?”

Either way, Spencer has shown she’s like a lot of us who have been following Spears’ legal battles–she’s invested and wants the best for the iconic singer.
