In the midst of the growing coronavirus outbreak, actress Octavia Spencer is turning to Wakanda as a temporary solution.
A post on Spencer's Instagram page this week suggested using the famous “Wakanda Forever" salute from Black Panther as an alternative to hugging and handshakes to avoid contracting the coronavirus.
"My handshake for the next few months," wrote Spencer.
The so-called “Wakanda Salute" has become a recurring symbol in pop culture since the release of Black Panther, which has grossed over $1 billion worldwide became the first superhero film to get a Best Picture Oscar nomination. A sequel will be released on May 6, 2022.
As coronavirus spreads, the disease is continuing to impact Hollywood. Several upcoming films, such as The Lovebirds and F9, have been postponed. Many television shows, from Riverdale to The Morning Show, have also halted production.
