"Orange Is The New Black" actress Laverne Cox will make her debut as Margot in the MTV series, "Faking It," which airs tonight. She will play the demanding director of the school’s drama department alongside series regulars Katie Stevens and Michael J. Willett. Cox was offered the role by the show’s executive producer, Carter Covington.
The show centers on two teenage girls who are mistakenly outed as a lesbian couple, and continue with the charade for popularity. Of the role, Cox told "Entertainment Weekly": "When I read it, I was really excited. Some of my first ballet teachers when I was young were over-the-top, huge personalities. It’s something that I feel like I know really well and I love. It just felt right. Margot is so theatrical and I did a lot of theater back in the day."
Cox will also return for the third season of "Orange Is The New Black," set to premiere on Nextflix in June 2015.
