In a tweet posted on Tuesday, the revered cinema icon sets the tone for what a biopic about her life could be. Grier also suggests incorporating Cardi B in the film’s soundtrack. Back in 2019, Grier listed Spike Lee as someone she’d like to direct it.
Grier achieved fame during the blaxploitation era of 1970s cinema, starring in a stream of films such as Foxy Brown, Coffy, Sheba, Baby and Scream Blacula Scream. The actress also starred Showtime drama The L Word and as the titular character in Quentin Tarantino’s classic Jackie Brown, garnering SAG and Golden Globe Award nominations for Best Actress for her performance.
